My second day in Melbourne begun when Nic suggesting travelling to one of the suburbs, Richmond, specifically for the ricotta hotcakes. We took a train and reached Top Paddock after a slow 10 minutes walk. The weather was perfect and we passed by a few quaint furniture stores where I had to restrict myself from entering if not we would never get to our destination. We waited for approximately 30 minutes for a table and another 30 minutes for food but it was SO WORTH IT. The ricotta hotcakes were to DIE FOR, it literally melted in my mouth and the price justifies the portions.Told Nic I could never look at hotcakes the same way again. It was so FLUFFY, MOIST, something like a mix between a pound cake and a pancake. Each forkful was filled with tons of blueberries and had a tint of maple syrup. It was PERFECTION.

It was SO good I had it before I flew back to Singapore with an empty heart, knowing that I wouldn't get to taste hotcake as good as top paddock's unless I made a trip back to Melbourne. Nic ordered the chilli scrambled eggs served with local pine mushrooms and they the portions were huge and tasty too!

"Opportunities don't come knocking on the door twice." Chanced upon a great deal at the emirates web 2 months before my Easter break. $655 to MEL, I couldn't think of reasons not to go and visit my best friend studying in Melbourne. Booked a solo ticket, got my visa and travel insurance approved and I was good to go. Flew on the last day of my law paper, the people around me admired my determination, firstly because I was going alone (means being cooped up in the airplane for 8 over hours sitting next to strangers and praying that no babies and children are nearby), thankfully I met a mutual friend and we coincidentally happened to be on the same flight, & that school was really hectic (back to back assignments, projects, no study breaks yes this is what happens when you do a trimester program in a private institution)

I'm still suffering from very bad post withdrawal symptoms, not as bad as the next day when I landed in Singapore. My uni mates & I have always toyed with the idea of creating a food travelogue, so I decided to start the ball rolling, by introducing all the magnificent food places that Nic & Audrey drove us to. Stay tuned    ❤ ~
