My second day in Melbourne begun when Nic suggesting travelling to one of the suburbs, Richmond, specifically for the ricotta hotcakes. We took a train and reached Top Paddock after a slow 10 minutes walk. The weather was perfect and we passed by a few quaint furniture stores where I had to restrict myself from entering if not we would never get to our destination. We waited for approximately 30 minutes for a table and another 30 minutes for food but it was SO WORTH IT. The ricotta hotcakes were to DIE FOR, it literally melted in my mouth and the price justifies the portions.Told Nic I could never look at hotcakes the same way again. It was so FLUFFY, MOIST, something like a mix between a pound cake and a pancake. Each forkful was filled with tons of blueberries and had a tint of maple syrup. It was PERFECTION.

It was SO good I had it before I flew back to Singapore with an empty heart, knowing that I wouldn't get to taste hotcake as good as top paddock's unless I made a trip back to Melbourne. Nic ordered the chilli scrambled eggs served with local pine mushrooms and they the portions were huge and tasty too!
